SEO in India usually costs from about ₹8,000 a month for small local work to well over ₹1,00,000 a month for large programmes, based on prices Indian agencies publish. What matters more than the price is what gets done each month, and whether the provider can show you that work.
Google says it plainly: "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google." Treat any such promise as a warning.
Published price ranges
- BizzBuzz Creations gives ₹8,000 to ₹3,00,000 or more a month, depending on business size, competition and scope.
- Aalpha gives $150 to $300 a month as a typical range.
These figures come from each agency's own article, checked on 31 October 2026, and such articles also help sell that agency's services. Use them as a rough guide only. Our own Growth SEO plan is ₹6,999 a month, and a one-time local SEO and Google Business Profile setup is ₹3,999.
What each level should include
What changes the price
- Competition: a clinic in a small town faces less than a national online store.
- Site size: 10 pages take far less work than 10,000 products.
- Site condition: a slow or broken site needs repairs first.
- Content: writing new, useful pages is often the largest cost.
- Location: local work costs less than ranking across the country.
Warning signs
If you ticked any of these, slow down. Google's own advice on hiring an SEO warns about guarantees, special relationships with Google and secrecy.
Questions to ask before you sign
- What exactly will you do in the first three months?
- Which of my pages will you change, and who writes the words?
- How will you report the work, and how often?
- How are links earned, if you build them at all?
- Do I keep my accounts, content and access if I leave?
Can you do SEO yourself?
Yes, a lot of it. Start with our on-page SEO checklist and local SEO guide. Hire help when the work takes more of your time than it is worth, or when you have tried the basics and stayed stuck.
How long until it works?
Expect months, not weeks. Google's SEO starter guide says some changes appear in hours and others take several months. New sites and competitive searches usually take longer. Be careful with anyone who gives you an exact date.
Common questions
Is cheap SEO worth it?
Sometimes. A low monthly fee can cover real local work on a small site. Ask to see what is done each month. If no one can explain it plainly, you may be paying for reports and not for work.
Is one-time SEO enough?
A one-time setup can fix the basics and may be enough for a small business in a quiet market. Competitive searches need steady work over time.
SEO or Google Ads?
Ads can bring visitors today and stop when you stop paying. SEO is slower but keeps working for longer. Many businesses use ads first while SEO builds.
