Logo design price in India: what you should pay and what you get

By Surjith Kumar K ·

Stationery with a red and black logo: letterhead, business cards, envelope and phone
A logo has to work small and large: on a phone profile picture, a visiting card and a shop board.

A logo in India can cost anywhere from about ₹500 from a logo maker or beginner to several lakh rupees from a branding agency. Most small businesses should pay for a designer who asks about the business, offers a few directions, and hands over vector files you own. Price alone tells you little, so check what you actually get.

Before you pay, ask one question: "Will I get the vector files and the full rights?"

Published price ranges

Indian studios publish these rough levels. Creativeline and Noboru World are two examples of such price guides, checked on 31 October 2026.

Our own brand identity work starts at ₹4,999. It covers discovery, a primary logo and compact mark, and versions for light and dark backgrounds. What is included in your quote depends on the scope you choose, and you see that in writing first.

What changes the price

  • Research: does the designer study your customers and competitors?
  • Concepts and revisions: how many directions, and how many rounds of changes?
  • Deliverables: just a logo, or colours, fonts and guidelines too?
  • Custom drawing: hand-drawn marks and letterforms take longer than adapting a font.
  • Experience: you are also paying for the judgement to say what will not work.

How to brief a designer

A good brief saves money and rounds of changes. Share:

  • What your business does, and who your customers are.
  • Your main competitors, and how you want to look different.
  • Where the logo will mainly be seen: shop board, packaging, Instagram.
  • Logos you like, and more importantly, why you like them.
  • Any colours or symbols to use or avoid, and your reasons.

Avoid these problems

  • Copied or stock marks. They can appear on other businesses, and may cause trademark trouble. Run a trademark search before you commit to a name and logo.
  • Getting only a JPG. You will have to pay again the first time you need a large print.
  • Design by committee. Choose one person to decide.
  • Changing the logo often. Recognition builds through repetition.

Common questions

Can I use an AI logo generator?

For testing, yes. Check the tool's terms on ownership and commercial use, and whether the result is too close to something that already exists, especially if you plan to register a trademark.

How long does logo design take?

Often one to three weeks, depending on research, the number of directions and how quickly feedback comes.

Do I need brand guidelines too?

Even one page helps once more than one person uses your logo. Our guide to brand identity explains what else is useful.
